WHO ARE YOU?

I am a YouTuber from the United States who likes to draw and make animations on the internet. I have a strong passion for art and especially animation. My purpose as a YouTuber is to make animations of stuff I like including music videos and parodies, I hope that my content will peak your interests.

WHAT IS THIS WEBSITE?

“THAT RUSSEL PUP’S NEOCITY CITE” is my personal website where I can share my content and interests in an organized space. The name is a place holder for now, I feel like it's too long. The purpose of this place is to provide reliable information about myself and my content. Pages dedicated to myself, my content, art work, music, etc are to be expected here as an easy way to access everything. I will provide links to my YouTube and Soundcloud, but my website has ALL of that in one. Please be aware that some of this material is NOT available at the moment because I need more time to learn HTML and CSS. Remember, this website is under construction.

WHY YOUTUBE?

When I was 10 I decided that I wanted to have my own YouTube channel, that being because I’ve seen users on the platform share their own art and passions online and usually gain a lot of positivity and I wanted the same for myself. I’ve always liked the idea of others admiring my art and being inspired by my content. YouTube seemed like the easiest platform to share that stuff. It was well known, pretty much everyone uses it on a daily basis, and I’ve been making comics and videos since I was 8 so I basically have experience. It was perfect!

WHY NEOCITIES?

I never liked the way how things are set up in website making platforms. Everything feels too complicated yet so generic. I wanted a place to start completely from scratch. Around this time I grew a great interest in Web 1.0, where I discovered Geocities as well as its modernized counterpart Neocities. Neocities was the place that I needed for so long. You start from scratch, learn coding along the way, and when you do get good at HTML and CSS you can customize and navigate your website however you want it. It was perfect. While I am not the best at coding, I feel amazed in myself that I managed to do all of this, even if it’s not much. But don’t worry, eventually I will have everything on this website. I can’t say it’s the most simple way to make a website but hey, I’m a newbie what can I say ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

WHERE ARE YOUR AMV's/PARODIES?

I haven’t accomplished everything I intended to do for this channel because for the past 3 years I’ve been going through some very rough times in my life. But I’m doing better now and I want my channel and this website to simply be a love letter to my younger self. I will admit, I do feel like for someone who's been around for nearly 3 years you'd think they'd stick to what they're passionate about, but not me, it was as if I completely forgot WHY I joined YouTube to begin with and it makes me feel sad. I won't beat myself down though, I've been working on some Animated Music Videos as well as my first animated parody project so I can't wait until those are ready. Thank you all for the support Nuggets, it means a lot more than you realize <3
